About the SHA256 checksum
Every installer comes with a SHA256 checksum, which acts as a unique fingerprint of the file contents. After downloading, compute the SHA256 of the file locally and compare it with the value on this page. If they match, the file arrived intact and unmodified.
On Windows you can use certutil; on macOS and Linux, use shasum or sha256sum.
